ALBION turned record breakers with a rare win at Frickley.
Jim Vince's latest vintage set a new marker for unbeaten league games - 20 - to wipe out a previous club best tally untouched for more than half a century.
New boy Kyle Wilson was Witton's matchwinner against the division's basement club.
It was only the Wincham outfit's sixth success in more than 20 visits to Yorkshire and they were made to work for their victory.
The only goal of the game came on 20 minutes.
Liam Brownhill advanced down the left flank before pushing the ball to Rod Thornley and his perfect crossfield pass was despatched home from the edge of the box with the aid of a deflection.
It was his first league goal since switching from Barrow.
And Wilson went close two minutes later with a header before on the half hour his free kick was tipped over the bar by home custodian Adam Nicklin.
Surprisingly for Frickley their tactics in the opening half allowed Albion to play, although the unpredictable playing surface was not conducive to Witton's normal precision passing.
The second period saw the hosts attack with more menace as they strived for a leveller. But the only time the visitors' defence was breached saw a headed attempt strike the bar only for the assistant's flag to halt the movement for offside.
On a rare Albion sortie forward Thornley won a corner with Wilson's flag-kick only partially cleared before debutant Neil Wood's shot went past the upright.
Brownhill picked up his first yellow card in two seasons when he reacted to a challenge before, deep into stoppage time, Adam Warlow suddenly found himself in the clear but Nicklin did well to stop him from scoring.
