THE University Primary Academy Weaverham opened its doors again on Tuesday, September 11, after flooding caused damage to the academy at the weekend.
The academy was set to open on Monday, September 10 but after the incident that occurred over the weekend this was no longer possible.
In a Facebook status update on Monday, a spokesperson for academy said: “I’m delighted to inform you that school will reopen tomorrow.
“The recovery team worked tirelessly over the weekend to clear up the damage.
“Today we have been busy tidying the school and moving furniture whilst waiting for electrics and alarms to be checked to ensure we are safe to open up again tomorrow.
“Some classes have needed to move to a temporary classroom whilst floors are still drying out but teachers will direct all of the children tomorrow to the right classroom.
“Thank you for your patience and offers of help. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.”
