THINGS are looking pretty peachy for a Northwich business woman who has launched a salon in a growing part of the town centre.

Leah Massey has launched her first business enterprise, called Simply Peachy, above Bella Boutique in Crown Street.

The 22-year-old, from Farm Road, Rudheath, is excited to be the latest in an expanding line of new independent business to have opened in the street in the past six months.

Specialising in nail art and eyebrows, the former University of Chester Academy Northwich (UCAN) pupil studied beauty and hairdressing at Mid Cheshire College before going on to train in art and design in Manchester.

Speaking to the Guardian ahead of her official launch on Saturday, August 25, the beauty expert said: “From a young age I always knew that I wanted to work for myself and that I wanted whatever I did to be creative.

“I’ve always had an interest in beauty and the creative arts but although I described myself as a ‘girly girl’, I also like being very hands on which is why I think this suits me so much.”

Leah’s business started on a part time basis two years ago while she was also working at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa in Knutsford. Her parents converted her art study in the garden into a small beauty salon and although her first customers were family and friends she quickly built up a loyal client base.

The opportunity to launch her business in the town centre came about through links with Bella Boutique, whom she models for.

She said: “They mentioned to me that they had the space upstairs and encouraged me to go for it – they’ve been really helpful and luckily all my clients have been really supportive and are happy to come with me which is fantastic.”

Although Leah is currently running Simply Peachy single handed, she’s looking forward to what the next few months hold and hopes to be able to grow the business to take on employees and offer more services.

She added: “I’m really looking forward to working in the town centre. I grew up here, have always worked here and know lots of the people and businesses in the town. I’m really looking forward to getting started.”
