MOTORBIKE retailer J&S Accessories, based in Oakmere, raised almost £1,000 for the North West Air Ambulance last week.
The company hosted an event last Wednesday at its store in Chester Road, which saw around 400 bikers turn out to enjoy food, a temporary bar, and a raffle.
The event raised £958 for the ambulance service, in recognition of the injured bikers the air ambulance paramedics have helped.
Alex Sheeran, sales manager at J&S Accessories, said: “If bikers get into an accident on their bike, sadly it’s often quite serious and therefore the air ambulance deals with a lot of accidents involving bikers.
“So, this was our way of raising some money for the North West Air Ambulance which has helped a lot of people we know in the biking community, while also enjoying a social event at the same time.
“The amount raised was incredible. The weather wasn’t great so were expecting a low turnout and we thought we’d raise around half of what we did, so it was really pleasing.”
