A MUSIC and beer festival is taking place in Northwich over the bank holiday weekend with free admission.

Live and Local will see Lion Salt Works Museum and the Salt Barge pub, both in Ollershaw Lane, Marston, teaming up thanks to music promoter Iain Stead.

The event will take place from Saturday to Bank Holiday Monday from 10.30am to late and it will be suitable for all the family.

Children’s activities will take place at the award-winning Salt Works Museum and bands will play outside the Salt Barge, which was made CAMRA’s ‘Pub of the Summer 2018’. B

Iain, managing director of music events company, Mack’s Music Promotions, said: “The idea of staging these free family weekends is to bring together the community and anyone who likes good music.

Phil Gatley, manager of the Salt Barge Pub, said: “The Salt Barge is delighted to have won CAMRA’s Pub of the Summer 2018 award and will be selling carefully selected micro brewed ales from the area during the festival. We look forward to welcoming everyone along.”

Bands that will perform on the outside stage include Mal Dino, Hopping Frog, Lostock Ukes and Dan Woods. Craft activities for children will be available in the historic Thompson Suite of the Lion Salt Works Museum, which also has a free play area, café, shop, free butterfly garden and free parking.
