A 27-YEAR OLD man has died in a crash in Chester Road, Castle.

The crash, which involved just one vehicle, happened at around 5am on Sunday at the junction of Moss Road and Chester Road.

A police spokesman said: "At 5.02am on Sunday 12 August police attended a single vehicle collision at the junction of Moss Road and Chester Road in Northwich.

"The vehicle, a black Mercedes A Class, left the road and collided with a wall. The driver, a 27-year-old local man sadly passed away at the scene."

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire Service said: "Crews responded to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision on Chester Road in Northwich.

"Crews worked with fellow emergency services to make the vehicle safe however, sadly, the male driver was confirmed deceased at the scene."

The road was closed for more than four hours while emergency services dealt with the incident but has now been re-opened.
