POLICE have confirmed that the death of popular Northwich man Micky Price is not being treated as suspicious.

Officers investigating the disappearance of the 40-year-old Winnington dad found a body by the A556 roundabout in March - almost a year after he went missing.

He went missing in April 2017 and was last seen in Rudheath.

Search teams from Cheshire Police and Cheshire Search and Rescue had kept up the search for Micky throughout the 12 months.

The inquest into his death was formally opened by the coroner last week but is due to be heard in full later this year.

Almost five months after the body was discovered, Cheshire Police have now confirmed that they are not treating the death as suspicious.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "Formal identification has now been completed and the inquest has been opened.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a case file will be prepared for the coroner."
