NORTHWICH Rotary Club has funded the provision of welfare facilities in one of its largest sponsorship projects in recent times.

Northwich Salvation Army Community CHurch has been fitted with shower and toilet facilities, as well as enhanced lighting, a washing machine and tumble drier as part of the scheme.

The additions will help the Salvation Army support homeless people.

In a conversation with Rotarian Terry Webb, church leader captain Becky Ward highlighted the problem that the Salvation Army drop-in centre was facing.

The community services committee headed by Steve Wheat undertook the project, with Currys/PC World supplying the electrical goods at a negotiated competitive rate. Building contractors Wm Morrrisons completed all the building work, and the installation of the appliances.

All Competitive quotations for the shower installation were obtained through Salvation Army Building Services team who also supervised the work and ensured it was completed to a high standard.

Becky said: "This is a great facility that helps us to improve the lives of a lot of people and we can only offer a huge thank you to Rotary for funding this project."
