KINGSLEY extended a winning run to four matches in all competitions after a successful run-chase against Barnton at the Croft.

Needing 156 to win, they cruised to their target with five wickets still standing thanks to a collective effort led by Ben Stoddart (46) with support from Harris Yassin (23), Danny Mullins (26) and Travis Martin (25no).

Neil Langham (2-48) and Sam Connop (2-45) took two wickets apiece, but the visitors’ bowling attack did not have enough runs to defend.

Barnton had posted 155-9 after being put in, with Connop (35) and James Hodgkinson (36) the pick of their batsmen.

Hayden Lanza (3-44) and Stoddart (3-42) impressed with the ball.

Oakmere’s sequence of victories stopped at eight after they were held to a draw by visiting Wilmslow at Overdale Lane.

Elliot Rowe (72no) inspired the away side, who held out at 152-8 despite a heroic effort by Nick Guest (5-29) to cut through their lower-order.

Oakmere had put 197-7 on the board before declaring, a 70-run partnership for the fourth wicket between James Norton (31) and Slade Mitrovich (77 off 71 balls) the highlight.

The South African struck 12 fours and a six, while Rowe (3-21) was again Wilmslow’s best.

Winnington Park gave further evidence of their recent improvement with a 55-run success at Woodford.

They racked up 198-8 after being put in, with captain Alec Butcher (56 off 39 balls) passing 50 for a second successive Saturday.

Peter Room (36no off 22 balls) found the boundary six times during a cameo late on after Tyron Young (26) and Jonny Wales (25) had chipped in.

Woodford were knocked over for 143 after Wales (6-62) and Michael Dunning (3-35) combined again.

Middlewich were comfortable winners at Irby, who they dismissed for 82 after winning the toss.

Phil Parry (5-25) led the way with support from Matt Ryan (2-18) and Stephen Parry (2-10).

James Prime (37no) and Kieran Boyle (28) did the bulk of the work as the men from Haddon Field reached 87-4 in 15 overs.

Winsford could not prevent improving Wistaston Village from recording back-to-back wins in Division Four.

The men from Knights Grange struggled to recover from losing Devon Hughes from the first ball of the innings despite opener Mike Dickenson (46) batting with conviction.

Mark Skellon (23) and Ben Crellin (21) provided assistance before the innings stuttered to a close at 144-9.

The visitors could not make an early breakthrough and Chris Jobbins (51) top-scored as Wistaston coasted to their target for the loss of only two wickets.
