SLIMMERS from four Northwich groups are celebrating losing an amazing 380st between them since January.

As part of a national campaign, members of the Hartford, Barnton, Moss Farm and Weaverham Slimming World groups have donate the clothes they no longer need since losing weight to charity.

The groups are hoping to raise more than £4,000 between them, with 175 bags full of clothes donated.

Sarah Carter, who runs the groups, said: "It’s such a liberating feeling having the confidence to bag up clothes you’ll never fit into again, all while raising money for an extremely important cause.

"My members can’t wait to make room for a new summer wardrobe by taking part.

"We really are one big family and I will be so proud to see them say goodbye to those larger sizes and set targets for enjoying a healthier holiday season feeling absolutely fantastic.”

Two members of the Hartford group have lost more than eight stone between them.

Gail Tomlin, who has lost 3st 5lbs since joining the group, said: “I’ve gone from a size 20 to a size 14 and I’ve donated several bags.

"Losing weight has done wonders for my confidence, and knowing I’ve reduced my chances of getting a range of health issues including cancer feels great."

Pauline Little, who owns L JL Littles dancewear shop in castle, has lost 5 stone.

She said: “Together we can do great things and that’s why I was so excited to bag up my old clothes and see how much we can raise for Cancer Research UK."
