A WIDE range of activities were on offer during the Easter half-term holidays for children in Rudheath.

From circus skills to rock painting, youngsters of all ages had plenty to do last week when the Rudheath and Witton Together group held an activity day at The Venue, based in Gadbrook Road

Katy Sneyd, community engagement officer for the group, said: “Everyone had a fantastic day with something for everyone.

“A big thank you to all the volunteers who help to organise events like today.”

The morning welcomed toddlers and parents to a fun-filled tots play workshop, where they explored sensory play and music.

They also got to paint rocks and be part of the new ‘Rudheath Rocks’ craze.

The toy bank was open at the event so children could donate old toys, as well as take new ones home.

In the afternoon session, children were treated to a circus skills workshop provided by Barnton Circus, followed by a chocolate and an Easter egg hunt.

The King Street branch of Morrisons provided more than 50 Easter eggs on the day and Katy says that the children were thrilled to be able to take the chocolate treats home with them.

Katy added: “We were really pleased to see so many local families enjoying our free Easter activities day.

“Rudheath and Witton Together is all about building a stronger community and days like today show how when people come together and have fun, communities become stronger.”

These activities are funded by a national programme called ‘Big Local’, which invested £1 million into the village, with the aim of making the area an even better place for residents to live, both now and in the future.
