A MAN has been arrested after a takeaway driver was robbed at knifepoint in Hartford.
A 44-year-old man was parked in a car park behind a row of shops in Chester Road when the incident occurred at around 9.10pm on Monday, April 16.
Two men opened the passenger side door after he returned to the vehicle upon making a delivery and made threats armed with a knife and a screwdriver before stealing a quantity of cash.
The offenders then fled on a footpath which runs along allotments towards Abbey Lane.
Police have now arrested a 36-year-old Northwich man.
He has been released under investigation.
Cheshire Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, saw the offenders in the area or thinks they know who these people are to get in touch.
DC Martin Regan said: “Being threatened and robbed at knifepoint must be a terrifying ordeal and we are determined to catch the men responsible and ensure that justice is served.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and I urge anyone who witnessed it, thinks they may have seen the offenders in the area around that time or has any other information that may help with our investigation, to call Cheshire Police on 101, quoting the incident number 38202."
