A HIGH street bank will close its doors next month.

The High Street branch of Nationwide will close permanently on Friday, April 27 and merge with the existing store on May 2, located on the Bull Ring, following a refurbishment.

A Nationwide spokesperson said: “We’re committed to giving our members the best experience possible. This means providing branches that are modern, comfortable and easy to use – as well as introducing new services that make banking with us easier. Which is why we’re going to be closing the branch at 54 High Street and teaming up with the Bull Ring branch, which will be given a fantastic new facelift.”

The branch will boast ‘more space to do your banking’ with an open-plan layout to do your banking in a way that suits you best and access to the latest technology, including free Wi-Fi and access to the Internet Bank via iPads/tablets.

On Friday, March 2, the Bull Ring branch closes for refurbishment. During this time, members of the public will be able to continue using the High Street branch until it closes on Friday, April 27.

On Wednesday, May 2, the new-look branch opens at the Bull Ring.

During the four days period between closing the High Street branch and relocating to the Bull Ring, members are advised of the nearby branches in Winsford, in Dene Drive, and Middlewich, in Wheelock Street, that can be used as normal.
