A NURSING home has received a ‘good’ rating from CQC following a recent inspection.
Acorn Hollow General Nursing Home in Acorn Hollow General Nursing Home in Manchester Road, Lostock Gralam, received the rating after an unannounced inspection.
The previous inspection conducted by CQC also gave the nursing home an overall rating of ‘good’ but stated they ‘required improvement’ in the ‘well-lead’ category.
The inspector found that this had changed with clear and stable leadership being put in place with no breaches of regulations found during the inspection.
The inspector said: “At the last inspection we identified that there was a lack of stable leadership within the service. At this inspection we found that this had been addressed.”
“There were clear lines of accountability in place for staff. Beneath the registered manager there was a deputy manager and senior care staff.”
Public feedback on the staff and how they carry out their responsibilities at the nursing home was also extremely positive.
The inspector said: "Those people we spoke to, and their family members were unanimous in stating that they felt that staff knew what they were doing and provided the correct support, to a good standard.
“People confirmed that staff treated them with dignity and respect. We observed staff knocking on people's doors prior to entering and ensuring that doors were closed whilst personal care tasks were being completed.”
