ROBERTS is taking its rebrand on the road with a renowned Brazilian street artist.

The Rudheath bakery says that its collaboration with Mateus Bailo is a 'fabulous first for the world of bread', following decades of tie-ups between street art and the fashion industry.

Mateus' latest canvas is Roberts’ nationwide delivery fleet, which is being brought up to date with vibrant illustrations of exotic plants and birds – including the bakery's mascot.

Stuart Spencer-Calnan, managing director at Roberts, said: "Mateus is as an instinctive creator and innovator. He’s very fluid and constantly pushes boundaries to create something new and exciting on every project.

"We take this very same approach here at Roberts, with our innovation team working day-in, day-out to develop new products and forecast the next big trends.

"Our street-art inspired lorries can now extend this attitude – from our headquarters and out to the retailers who stock our products and the consumers who buy them."

Mateus has painted all over the world.

Some of his work is showcased in Manchester and London, and he has previously been commissioned by brands such as luxury Parisian department store Printemps, Japanese fashion label Onitsuka Tiger and the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
