MIDDLEWICH Fire Cadets has won Cheshire County Royal British Legion's Youth Endeavour Award for the second consecutive year.
The award has been made most years since 1984 to youth organisations for their help and support collecting for the Poppy Appeal. Last year was the first time it was awarded to Fire Cadets and the first time it came to Middlewich.
Middlewich Fire Cadets were named as this year’s winners at the Royal British Legion County Conference at Daresbury Park Hotel, Warrington, on Saturday, January 20.
The trophy, a shield commemorating all previous winners, including 2017, was presented to Fire Cadet Leaders at a 'Poppy Appeal Thank You' event in Middlewich RBL Club that evening by Ken Kingston, RBL Middlewich Branch chairman.
Ken said: "I am delighted that the County Conference appreciated the work of the Fire Cadets and Cadet Leaders again this year. It was a pleasure to collect the trophy, on their behalf, at the conference and to be able to present it, together with a certificate, that same evening in Middlewich."
