YOUNG actors are gearing up to perform a three-night run of a family favourite next week.
The Harlequin Youth Theatre will perform Peter Pan from Thursday, January 25, to Saturday, January 27.
More than 20 children are taking part in the award-winning group’s show, which follows the story of the mischievous Peter and his adventures in Neverland.
The cast began rehearsals in September, and the show promises to be the group’s most popular to date, with three performances having already sold out.
“This production is a collaboration of ideas from the youth theatre, with myself making the final decisions,” said director Laura Elizabeth.
“This year the group has choreographed their own fight scene, given suggestions for light and sound and of course added their own personal twists to their characters.
“It’s fantastic to listen to the ideas from the group and the passion they have to tell the story.”
The group will perform three evening shows, as well as a Saturday afternoon matinee with reduced lighting and sound effects, for children with learning disabilities and additional needs, such as autism.
Final tickets are available at harlequinplayers.com
