A CHIMNEY fire in Acton Bridge caused a main road through the village to close for almost five hours yesterday afternoon, Monday.
The fire at a property in Milton Rough saw one crew of firefighters called from Lymm, to tackle the first with chimney rods from the ground floor.
First alerted at 2.21pm, firefighters then used a hydraulic platform and a thermal imaging camera to check that the fire hadn't spread.
Police closed the road while firefighters worked at the scene, re-opening around 7pm.
