A DAVENHAM business has celebrated its sixth birthday by raising more than £2,000 for charity.

Willowgreen, a home and gift shop based in London Road, held a raffle with Katie Loxton prizes including a bracelet, pouch bag and blanket scarf with proceeds going to Cheshire Down’s Syndrome Support Group.

Joshua Duff, 11-years-old picked the winners of each prize donated by Willowgreen, which opened its door on October 1, 2011.

Amanda Dutton, owner of Willowgreen, said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to be able to help raise funds and awareness for the CDSSG and Willowgreen customers are very generous when it comes to fundraising, especially when there are prizes to be won.

“I am delighted we have hit the £2,000 mark and beyond.”

The funds will be invested to help support more families, children and young adults with Down’s syndrome throughout the Cheshire region.

Julie Duff, CEO of CDSSG, said: “We are extremely grateful for all the support over the last six years from Willowgreen.

“Amanda has always gone out of her way to support the charity and help us raise awareness of Down’s syndrome in the area.

“Happy sixth birthday Willowgreen.”

CDSSG was established in 2007 and is a parent-led group that is entirely self-funding.

The charity relies on volunteer fundraisers and family groups to succeed in its aims.
