PLANS have been submitted to build a war memorial in Wincham.
Friends of Wincham Memorial Garden chose the design which, if approved, will be built in Linnards Lane Playing Fields.
The site will be a wall constructed of Bradstone Square faced Buff Walling Block with the names to be etched on a stone block.
A planning statement said: “The materials were chosen to be sympathetic with the surrounding environment, as well as to provide a focal point for the community longevity.
“The community joined together to create the memorial garden and with the demolition of church in the village, there was a desire to have a focal point to commemorate such events.
“The parish council has provided support and permission to construct the memorial.”
A decision target date it set for November 14.
