NORTHWICH will fall silent over Remembrance Weekend to pay tribute to those who have given their lives in conflict for the country.
Northwich Town Council has organised a special service to commemorate the annual event.
The event takes place on Remembrance Sunday, November 12, and will involve a parade assembling at Crum Hill, adjacent to the police station, at 9.15am.
Those in attendance will march along Chesterway, into Church Road and on to St Helen’s Church for the Service of Remembrance at 10am.
Once the service has finished, guests will make their way to the Cenotaph for the Act of Remembrance where dignitaries, regiments and various organisations will lay their wreaths.
A two-minute silence will be observed at 11am.
Cllr Janet Myerscough-Illidge, mayor of Northwich, said: “I hope as many people as possible will join us.”
