THE 15th Middlewich Beer and Cider Festival takes place next weekend.

More than 40 beers, ciders and English fruit wines will be available in the Royal British Legion on October 27 and 28.

Middlewich Round Table, who have organised the event, will donate proceeds to eight-year-old William Reed, who has been diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex and has severe epilepsy.

Jack Roberts, from MRT, said: “William’s diagnosis means he cannot walk or talk and functions at around 10 months old despite being eight.

“The left hand side of his body has little movement and is very weak.

“We are going to find the funds to purchase a special trike so that he can ride when he is outdoors to give him a new lease of life.

“As he grows older it will help his mobility and strength using his right side to help the left.

“Organising the event has been going great and there is not long left to go now. It should be a great weekend.”

Halloween fancy dress is optional with all participants receiving a free half pint of beer and a prize for best dressed.

Tickets are £6 for Friday night, £5 for Saturday afternoon and £8 for Saturday evening.

They are available from Chisholm’s Newsagents, Royal British Legion and Eventbrite.
