OFFICERS are appealing for information from the public following a burglary at a convenience store in Crewe.

The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between 10pm on Thursday, September 7, and 5.50am on Friday, September 8 when unknown offenders broke into the McColls Convenience Store in Gainsborough Road, Crewe.

The suspects are believed to have accessed the premises by cutting a hole in the roof. Once inside the store they attacked the ATM and stole a quantity of cash.

Det Sgt Daniel Loveridge from Crewe CID said: “This is a serious incident and we are committed to doing all that we can to trace the people responsible.

“The investigation is in its very early stages and we are currently following a number of lines of enquiry, including speaking to local residents and forensics.

“As part of the investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in the Gainsborough Road area last night and believes that they may have witnessed anything suspicious.”
