A PROMISE has been made that the name of a Northwich estate agent which was founded 161 year ago will remain despite being taken over.
Estate agent Butters John Bee (BJB), which has 19 branches including branches in Winsford and Crewe, has been sold to the Blackpool-based Spicerhaart Group.
Following the takeover, assurances have been given that BJB, which was founded in 1856, will retain its name and its offices.
Managing director James Beardmore said: "This is a very exciting time for us as it means we will be able to offer additional services to our customers and more career development opportunities, training and rewards to our 200 staff."
Mr Beardmore said as far as customers and staff were concerned it would be business as usual.
