A DEVELOPER has acquired 13 acres of land in Davenham to build 70 homes.

Bellway Homes will transform the site in Fountain Lane into a mix of three, four and five bedroom detached and semi-detached houses.

A range of traditional two storey house types will be built, all of which have been designed with layouts that make maximum use of light and space.

The developer will contribute more than £280,000 to help with school provision and a further £4,500 will go towards establishing a 20mph speed reduction scheme in the village.

The development will be known as Wildlings Croft.

Jenny Bell, sales director at Bellway Homes, said: “We’re delighted to have acquired land in Davenham and we are looking forward to getting started on the site.

“The plans for Wildlings Croft are stunning and we are confident that the development will prove popular with families, first time buyers and professionals.

“These are for people looking for a high quality, low maintenance home in a delightful location with great commuter links.”

The properties will include open plan fitted kitchens with integrated appliances, contemporary family bedrooms and en suites to the master bedroom.

Bellway will also provide £46,900 to cover the construction of a play space at Butchers Stiles Field and £14,507 to go towards pitches at Moss Farm in Hartford.

The pond on the site will be enhanced to protect its value for nature conservation and an area of the development will be dedicated to public open space.

Work is due to begin later in the year and is expected to take two years to complete.
