A POPULAR musician returns to Davenham on the back of a new album release.
Neil McSweeney, from Sheffield, will play at Davenham Theatre on Saturday, September 23 supported by solo artist Tracey Browne.
He has released fourth album A Coat Worth Wearing and plays a mixture of folk, blues and country influences.
McSweeney’s debut album, Remember to Smile was released in 2006 by independent label, LM Music.
Tracks attracted attention from BBC Radio 2 and digital station BBC Radio 6 Music.
He has collaborated with a number of musicians from the English folk and roots scene including Lucy Farrell, Sam Sweeney, Brooks Williams and Matt Boulter.
Neil will be supported by multi-instrumentalist Tracey whose credits include recording projects by Thea Gilmore, Nigel Stonier and a host of independent artists.
She plays guitar, piano, tenor guitar, bass, Q-chord and provides vocals on her own songs as well as harmonising with others.
Tracey trained as a sound at Manchester’s airtight studios where she recorded and mixed two EPs and two albums.
