MOTORISTS in Northwich are rejoicing as the Acton Swing Bridge has been re-opened.
The £1.5 million repair work has been going on at the bridge for more than six months and has plagued motorists in rush hour traffic along the A49.
Traffic has been backed up on a daily basis due to the temporary traffic lights and the bridge was due to be re-opened last week on Wednesday, July 19.
It was more bad news for drivers when it was announced the day before that the re-opening was postponed, but the bridge has now been fully re-opened to two lanes.
It was re-opened today, Wednesday, July 26, at around 3pm.
