SOME of the country’s best-loved children’s TV and film characters will visit Anderton Boat Lift next month to help get youngsters reading.
Peppa Pig, Bob the Builder and Olaf are among the familiar faces that will appear at the site during its summer reading events.
Youngsters can also enjoy magic, games and clowns, as well as free activities every Tuesday in August, and the site’s new £50,000 play area.
Graham Wood, duty manager at Anderton Boat Lift, said: “Children love coming to the Anderton Boat Lift because it is unlike any place they have ever been before and the idea of a boat ‘floating’ through the air really appeals to them.
“We hope these imaginative, free events will be an added appeal as will our new £50,000 play area.
“Entertaining children for the entire summer can be exhausting and expensive. At the Anderton Boat Lift, we hope to relieve some of this pressure with our free activities located in this spectacular location.”
