WORK on converting the old science labs at Weaverham High School is on course to be completed by September.

Work has been ongoing for some time on the school’s science block. The majority of the exterior work has now been completed, and work will continue on the interior over the summer to ensure the blocks are ready for the new term.

During the final week of term work began on converting the two old labs on the top floor into classrooms, as well as improving the quality of the IT rooms on the first floor.

The work meant that part of the school was not accessible for staff and pupils, as well as part of the playground.

Work has also commenced in some of the languages rooms to prepare them for demolition, which will take place in the summer holidays

The school said the conversion of the old science labs will be completed for the new term in September and the languages classrooms will be relocated to this area for the next year.

All the new classrooms are expected to be complete by Easter 2018.
