A FAMILY friend of Winsford schoolboy Max Johnson has continued his fundraising efforts to support him.

Neil Chapman, who also ran 5km with Max’s brother Harry a week earlier, completed a 3.8km open water swim in Derwent Water, Cumbria, on Sunday, July 9.

He is raising money for the Sick Children’s Trust, which has been supporting Max and his family in free accommodation while the Grange School pupil waits for a heart transplant in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Neil completed the swim in 1 hour 9 minutes 34 seconds, finishing 108th out of 276 swimmers on the day.

A total of £2,152 has been raised so far to support Max.
