A DEDICATED group of Northwich volunteers have formed a new fundraising group to raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation.

The volunteers have come together in the fight for every heartbeat to hold exciting fundraising events within the community and generate important funds to help beat heart disease sooner.

The money raised from the new fundraising group will help fund that research and save more lives.

The members of the new group are Carla Harazny, Emma Beasant, Jaime Wilding and Amanda Newton.

Leah Goodhind, BHF fundraising manager for Cheshire, said the group will be the ‘face’ of the heart charity for Northwich.

Carla Harazny, Northwich Fundraising Group lead, decided began working with the charity after her dad died from heart disease.

She said: “I wanted to get involved because the BHF became a massive part of my life after losing my dad.

“I couldn't help him but I can hopefully help someone else’s. Everything I do for the BHF is to keep my dad’s memory alive.

“We are hoping to raise as much as possible for the BHF helping them to fund the research that is so urgently needed to fight heart disease.

“We will be holding lots of exciting fundraisers throughout the year so if you want to lend a hand and get involved please get in touch.”

The British Heart Foundation has a network of over 250 fundraising groups in all corners of the UK, helping to support its vital work.

Together they raise over £2million every year in the fight against heart disease.

Around 41,000 people are living with heart and circulatory disease in Cheshire West and Chester.

The BHF is committed to funding half a billion pounds of new research over the next five years which will be central to discovering vital treatments for people living with heart and circulatory conditions.
