KINGSLEY were not at their best, but they were still good enough to beat Wilmslow last weekend and extend a winning run to nine matches.

Set a target of 163 to win, they made it there in style when Aussie Hayden Lanza (34no) smashed a six in the 32nd over.

He finished a job started by free-scoring Ben Stoddart (61 off 52 balls) and Danny Mullins (42) at the top of the order in a first-wicket partnership worth 112 runs.

The Crofters put behind them an untidy performance in the field as a result.

Stoddart (3-55) and Adrian Burden (3-46) both took three wickets, while Travis Martin (1-38) was economical during his 14 overs as Wilmslow’s innings closed on 162-8.

Improving Winnington Park brushed aside Heaton Mersey to record back-to-back victories for the first time.

A collective bowling effort, led by Jonny Wales (3-13), ended with the hosts back in the shed for 62.

He then eased Alec Butcher’s men to victory at 63-2 in an unbeaten third-wicket partnership worth 32 with Pete Evans.

Oakmere ended a four-game sequence without a victory when they got the better of Woodford in the same section.

They bowled out their hosts for 110, with Matthew Howard (4-41) and skipper Craig Phelan (3-22) the pick of their attack.

CJ van der Walt (46) held together their winning reply, putting on 68 runs with Phelan (19) for the fourth wicket as they reached 111-6.

Barnton ended a two-month wait to record a victory in the top-flight when they eased to an eight-wicket win at Port Sunlight.

That they could do so was a result of their effort in the field, dismissing the Wirral outfit for 102 despite regulars Dan Gilbert and Andy Leese both being unavailable.

Seamers Neil Langham (3-12) and Adam Garrod (2-29) conceded only 42 runs between them in the first 28 overs before Pat Flanagan (4-22) and captain Simon Hancock (1-34) continued from where they left off.

Openers Jack Whalley (26) and Callum Doyle (69no off 61 balls), who struck 13 boundaries, made an aggressive start as the visitors made it to 104-2 inside 19 overs.

Meanwhile Middlewich went down by nine wickets to in-form Disley, who cruised to their victory target in just 27 overs.

Josh Henry (52no) and captain Jake Reynolds (92no off 78 balls) shared in an unbeaten second-wicket partnership worth 139 runs, while Phil Parry (1-18) took the only wicket to fall.

Earlier, the visitors had closed on 144-7 after winning the toss.

Richard Clorley (43) and James Cornford (41) contributed the biggest individual totals, followed by Luke Houghton (20no), while Martin Blackburn took 4-50 for Disley.

Winsford lost by 36 runs at Holmes Chapel in Division Four.

Daniel Holtom (5-33) had been a thorn in the home team’s side, supported by Sid Mothe (2-36), as they totalled 146-9 off their 45 overs.

However the visitors succumbed for 110 after tea, when Mike Dickenson (26), Michael Dean (24) and Ben Crellin (25) failed to build on starts.

Kane Helyar (4-43) and Krish Bhwardwa (3-21) were their tormentors-in-chief.
