A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and drink driving following a serious crash on the Moulton bypass.
Officers were called out to a collision on the A533 at 12.40am today, June 19, involving a grey Seat Ibiza and a black Mercedes HGV.
The driver of the Seat, a 50-year-old woman from Winsford, suffered life-changing injuries and was taken to Royal Stoke Hospital, where her condition is described as serious but stable.
The driver of the HGV, a 53-year-old man from Poland, was uninjured.
Police arrested the man on the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving whilst above the drink drive limit, and he is currently in police custody assisting officers with their enquiries.
The A533 was closed in both directions following the incident between the Peckmill roundabout and the Road One roundabout as officers dealt with the collision. The road reopened at 4.30am.
Anyone with any information in relation to the collision is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 33 of June 19.
