TWO children have been arrested in relation to the arson attack at Winsford Lifestyle Centre on Thursday last week

The Lifestyle Centre, at The Drumber, was targeted by arsonists shortly before midnight on Wednesday, June 7.

Officers from Cheshire Police, and colleagues from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, attended the venue to find that a bike shed at the front of the building was ‘well alight’.

As a result of the fire, the bike sheds were ‘totally’ destroyed and extensive damage was caused to the exterior of the front of the building.

A 12-year-old and a 13-year-old have now been arrested in relation to the fire.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Officers investigating a fire at Winsford Lifestyle Centre have arrested two juveniles in relation to the incident.

“The first arrest took place on Monday, June 12, when officers arrested a 12-year-old local boy. That was swiftly followed by a second arrest on Tuesday, June 13, when a 13-year-old local boy was arrested as part of the investigation.

“Both of the boys have since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.”
