PETROL-HEADS were treated to a Qpod rally in Northwich on Saturday.

The convoy of microcars began the inaugural North West Qpod Rally by driving around Northwich and its surrounding areas on a treasure hunt.

Then from 12pm to 2pm the cars were on display at the Anderton Boat Lift, before guests took a boat trip on the river.

The convoy then drove up to the Great Budworth Ice Cream Farm.

A charity raffle was held at both locations to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice.

Then in the evening, guests enjoyed some live music at the Elm Cottage Touring Park in Winsford.

Organiser David Blackhurst said the feedback for the event has been positive.

He said: “It was a huge success. Everybody who came made a point to say it had been one of the best organised rallies they had ever been too.

“Despite the wet weather, people just said 'it’s only a bit of rain, we’re not going to drown'. Everyone enjoyed it and said it was a great event.

“We will definitely come back again next year. There is so much to see and do in this area.”
