WINSFORD A attempt to halt a sequence of three successive defeats when they return to action in the South and Mid Cheshire League on Thursday.

An 8-0 reverse at Hartford A last time out, when Mark Abbiss, Chris Knight, Alex Lerczak and Steve McCormack were on duty, is a second whitewash of the campaign since they returned to the first division.

Nantwich Farmers are their next guests at Knights Grange.

Winsford B suffered a first loss of the season in Division Three when they went down 6-2 at Holmes Chapel A.

Damian Cookson, Martin Stoilov, Chris Mundie and Bill Lawrie made up a quartet that hopes to bounce back when they visit Cuddington B tonight.

Meanwhile Winsford C were whitewashed by visiting Wistaston B in Division Four.

Teenage trio Lewis Penn, his brother Ryan and Alex Toomey were joined on court by Steve Harris.

They host back-markers Nantwich E tonight.

That same quartet represented Winsford D in a 6-2 success against Holmes Chapel C in Division Five last Thursday – the new team’s maiden win.

Their target is to extend an unbeaten run to three games when they visit Congleton E later.

Nantwich A proved too strong for Winsford in Mixed Division One, running out 8-0 victors at Knights Grange on Sunday.

The club’s senior players continue to meet every Monday, from 6pm, to practice together.
