FIREFIGHTERS used an aerial ladder platform to rescue a woman who had fallen onto the roof of a house.

Fire crews were called to a three-storey Victorian house in Cock Lane, Great Budworth, at 2.40pm on Saturday.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said a woman had become stuck on a roof of the property, and had fallen onto an inner roof.

She was injured in the fall, and was tended to by paramedics as fire crews prepared rope rescue equipment and the aerial ladder platform to carry out the rescue and bring the woman down.

The incident was attended by fire engines from Northwich and Stockton Heath, along with the Knutsford line rescue unit and supporting fire engine and aerial ladder platform from Chester.

The crews were at the scene for three hours.
