A DEDICATED former Hartford councillor who gave almost 30 years of service has died.

Keith Musgrave, who lived in Hartford for almost half a century, died on Saturday, April 15, just two years after calling it a day on his political career.

Mr Musgrave represented Hartford on Vale Royal Borough Council for 23 years.

He was made mayor of Vale Royal Borough Council in 1998 and was leader of the council from 2003 to 2007.

After Vale Royal Borough Council was abolished in 2009, Mr Musgrave spent five years on Cheshire West and Chester Council as the joint representative for Hartford and Greenbank.

Mr Musgrave retired from politics in 2015, aged 82.

Later that year, on September 24, Mr Musgrave’s wife, Mabel, died while being cared for in St Luke’s Hospice in Winsford.

Mr Musgrave is survived by his two children, Emma and Nigel.
