NORTHWICH BID manager Jane Hough has expressed her delight at the success of the town’s Easter Extravaganza.

This year saw the added addition of woodland walks through Marbury Park, a free bus from the town to Lion Salt Works and Anderton Boat Lift and even more entertainment in the town centre.

The town centre drew more than 16,000 visitors, and the event provided something for all the family.

The event was organised between the Northwich Business Improvement District (BID), Lion Salt Works Museum, Anderton Boat Lift, Cheshire West and Chester Council and the Northwich Independent Retailers Association.

Children were entertained by the Easter Egg Hunt competition with more than 300 taking part.

There was an animal petting zoo on Witton Street, donkey rides on the High Street, and Vale Royal Falconry outside New Look and Pound Bakery.

Residents tried their hand at arts and crafts in Brunner Court and on Leicester Street, and the town saw the welcome return of the Easter Bunny and Easter Chick handing out chocolate treats to children.

Jane said: “It was great to see Northwich packed with visitors enjoying the Easter festivities.

“Events and festivals are key to supporting the town and we certainly saw visitors come out in their droves to support Northwich.

“It was wonderful to see families exploring the various activities, heritage attractions and the local woodland that had been organised – everyone left town with smiles on their faces and we’re already looking ahead to organising the next event.”
