ARCHERS’ favourite Sunny Ormonde is making a welcome return to this year’s Northwich LitFest.

Sunny plays Lilian Bellamy in the Radio 4 series, and her appearance at the festival is one of the highlights of the town’s literary celebrations.

Preparations are under way for this year’s Northwich LitFest, which will bring 14 very different events to the town throughout June.

The festival is organised by Susi Osborne, who is also delighted to have Sophie Parkin, the daughter of Molly Parkin, on this year’s line-up.

“Sunny premiered her show The Airings of an Archers Actor's Aunt, at the LitFest last year when it was still at its rehearsed reading stage,” she said.

“It has since gone on to tour it throughout the country to rave reviews, so we are delighted that she has agreed to return to Northwich to perform it for us once more.

“Sunny received a standing ovation for her rehearsed reading last year, so we can't wait to see the completed show - it's one you definitely won't want to miss and will be here on Friday, June 30.

“Another highlight is Sophie Parkin, the daughter of Molly Parkin, but highly successful in her own right.

“I met Sophie when I was in London earlier this year, and when I mentioned Northwich LitFest to her she said she'd be delighted to come and do an event for us.

“Sophie will be here on Saturday, June 17 doing a slideshow and talking about her book - Scurrilous tales of the Colony Room Club in Soho - the hangout of writers, artists, and performers, including her mum, the famous Molly Parkin.”

Bestselling novelist, Trisha Ashley, a writer of romantic comedies, will to talking about her latest book The Little Teashop of the Lost and Found on Wednesday, June 14, and Paul Burston will be in Northwich talking about his psychological thriller The Black Path on Friday, June 9.

On Friday, June 23 writer, theatre director and radio producer, Sue Wilson, will be talking about life behind the scenes at BBC radio dramas, including The Archers.
