TATTON Tories are expected to discuss George Osborne’s new role at the group’s annual meeting today.

The newly-appointed Evening Standard editor is expected to attend the meeting alongside Conservative councillors and members from the area.

Cllr Rod Menlove, Cheshire East Council member for Wilmslow East, told the Guardian: “George Osborne, who is a good constituency MP, now has a new job,” he said.

“Nobody queried whether he could represent his constituents properly when he was chancellor for five years, which by anybody’s imagination is a seven-days-a-week job.

“We have our annual meeting on Friday and inevitably this matter will be raised.”
