NORTHWICH MP Graham Evans and Winsford MP Antoinette Sandbach have tweeted from inside House of Commons, after a terror incident which has seen at least two people killed. 

Metropolitan Police have confirmed that an officer was stabbed in the Houses of Parliament in Westminster following a man driving into pedestrians in a vehicle on Westminster Bridge.

The force has confirmed that they are treating the incident as a terror attack.

The news broke at around 3pm and reports state that 12 people have been injured and two killed. 

The attacker who stabbed the policeman and also mounted the pavement in a vehicle and mowed down several people, was shot dead by police.

Members of Parliament, including Weaver Vale MP Graham Evans and Eddisbury MP, as well as staff in Parliament remain in lockdown. 

Mr Evans tweeted shortly after 5pm that he ans his staff are 'well and being well looked after by parliamentary security staff'.

Fiona Bruce, MP for Middlewich and Holmes Chapel, is in her Congleton constituency today.

George Osborne tweeted: "All our thoughts with injured police officer and those keeping our Parliament and our democracy safe right now."

A spokesman for the Tatton MP has confirmed to the Guardian that both he and his staff are safe.
