A SERIES of fundraising events have been planned on Saturday to help the appeal for Karole Woodthorpe.

A campaign has been seen up to fund potentially life-saving treatment overseas for Karole, who has been given just four months to live.

Friends of Karole, who has stage four breast cancer in her lungs, liver and adrenal glands, will be taking part in a 10k Delamere run on Saturday, from 11am to 12pm To take part simply turn up, walk or run with a donation of a minimum £5.

A community walk will take place from 4pm from the Kingfisher square.

The walk will be around the River Weaver and walkers can choose to walk 5k, 7k or join the group.

One of the organisers, Caroline Hale, said: “Bring wellies or old trainers in case it’s muddy. We want bright clothing and we want to make this a positive event as those that know Karole know she is an incredibly bright, beautiful and positive person.

“Dogs on leads are welcome. All donations large or small will be greatly appreciated.

“The Kingfisher pub have very kindly offered walkers complimentary basic refreshments on our return.

“The day will be finished off at the Kingfisher pub where Mike Boyes will be on his decks DJ'ing some classic house music and disco.

“Once again there will be collecting donations throughout the evening. A hugely popular DJ in our area and not to be missed.”

A number of other fundraising events are planned over the coming weeks.
