RUDHEATH residents have the chance to win a cash boost for their children’s school.

Rudheath and Witton Together is inviting people from both communities to vote for their local primary school by Saturday, April 1.

The school which has attracted the most votes by the closing date will receive £500.

The competition is one of a series of initiatives by Rudheath and Witton Together, which is overseeing how £1 million of Lottery money is spent in the area.

The money was awarded in 2012, and has to be spent by 2023.

Rudheath and Witton Together is a partnership of residents and organisations, and its remit is to ensure the community obtains the best deal for the lottery money and that everyone in the area has an opportunity to benefit from it.

Over the past four years the partnership has overseen the investment of more than £200,000 in the community, with money given out as grants to groups and projects.

Funding has been granted only to schemes which members of the community have said are their priorities.

The partnership wants to hear from residents if they have any ideas about how it should spend its money.

If you have suggestions call community engagement officer Katy Sneyd at katy@rudheathandwitton.org.uk or call 07925 971912.

A weekly hub has been launched at Rudheath Social Club in Middlewich Road.

Residents are welcome to drop in any time between 9.30am and 11.30am to gain further information about what the partnership is doing, share their ideas about how it could improve the local area or just have a coffee and a chat.

The partnership is also launching a Youth Bus in conjunction with the Youth Federation and St Luke's Hospice Winsford.

The new club will run two nights per week, every week between February and November 2017, and all nights will be run by a team of youth workers from the Youth Federation.

For details about the primary school competition visit the partnership’s website, rudheathandwitton.org.uk.

You can only vote once, and people are encourage to tell their friends about the competition.
