PREPARE to be amused, intrigued and amazed by the latest touring drama show to perform at Wincham.

Holmes and Watson, The Farewell Tour is being staged at Wincham community centre on Friday, March 31.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing Holmes and Watson,” said Debs May, who is co-ordinating the event.

“When Cheshire Rural Touring Arts produced a list of performances to choose from, we had no hesitation in requesting this production for Wincham.

“It looks as though it will be a lot of fun, just what you need at the end of a busy week.”

Cheshire Rural Touring Arts is one of 33 rural touring schemes in the UK, and brings high quality, professional arts events to local communities.

Holmes and Watson, The Farewell Tour promises an evening of intrigue, amazement and amusement.

Written by Stuart Fortey, it features Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson, Mrs Hudson and Inspector Lestrade tackling a baffling and as yet unsolved case.

You may get a glimpse of the Satsuma Stone, stolen from the Crown of William of Orange, and the re-enactment of the deadly struggle at the Reichenbach Falls is not to be missed.

“Annie Makepeace has put a lot of commitment into promoting these events in the past,” said Debs.

“When she decided to step down as co-ordinator we couldn’t let this opportunity slip away.

“The whole thing relies on local volunteers who want to make things happen in the village, and we are so lucky in Wincham to have many such people who help by organising, delivering leaflets, setting up chairs or just clearing away afterwards.’ ‘The audience will sit at tables, so please let us know if a group of friends would like to sit together.

“There will be a bar where you can buy drinks, and a raffle. We are also providing a two-course hot supper in the ticket price, so you won’t need to have your tea first.”

Tickets are £12 and are available at danarts.org or by calling 07847 187963.
