RESIDENTS fed up with all-day parkers outside their homes are being urged to attend a public meeting about the issue.

People living in Rudheath near Gadbrook Park Business Park are becoming increasingly exasperated by problems they say are caused by business park staff.

They claim a lack of parking spaces at Gadbrook Park has seen an increasing number of workers parking on residential roads alongside the business park.

This has angered residents, who say they are unable to park outside their homes, cars are causing problems for residents using their drives, and are parking on pavements and near junctions.

Their concerns are supported by Rudheath Parish Council, which is calling for more parking spaces on the business park to ease the headache for residents.

Cheshire West and Chester Council is looking at the issue, and has asked the parish council to seek the views of residents.

The parish council has organised a public meeting on the issue at Rudheath Leisure Centre on Monday, January 30.

The meeting starts at 7pm, and parish council chairman Alison Gerrard wants as many people as possible to attend so the parish council can gain an accurate picture of residents’ concerns.

Cllr Gerrard will introduce the meeting, following which residents will be able to put questions to parish councillors and Rudheath Police Community Support Officer Angela Richardson.

“Cheshire West has asked us to do some consultation with the residents of Rudheath, and we’re asking people to come along to the leisure centre on the 30th,” she said.

“It is important that we hear from people about their concerns, but we are also hoping that residents will suggest ways in which their problems might be alleviated.

“The roads most badly affected by the parking problems are East Avenue, West Avenue, Wright Avenue, Shurlach Road and Gadbrook Road.

“Residents are fed up when they cannot park outside their houses, and cars are causing an obstruction and preventing pushchairs getting past on pavements.

“We want to try and find a solution to this situation for everyone concerned, and will report residents’ comments at the meeting to Cheshire West.”
