WITTON celebrated their biggest win of the season on Saturday, but Barnton’s five-match sequence without losing came to an end.

Brad Bauress converted twice from the penalty spot in Albion’s 5-0 hammering of 10-man Romulus, sending Carl Macauley’s men up to fourth in the Northern Premier League’s Division One South.

Goals from Yaw Gyimah and Jamie Hinchliffe helped Northwich Victoria restore parity twice at Market Drayton Town in the same section, only for the hosts to run out 4-2 victors thanks to Judd Ellis’ double.

Tom Bailey increased his goal tally for the campaign to 17 with a brace in 1874 Northwich’s success at New Mills in the North West Counties League’s top-flight.

Danny Thomas and Sam Hare were also on target in a 4-2 win for Ian Street’s side.

Barnton could not knock leaders Runcorn Town from their perch, succumbing 3-0 at Townfield Lane.

Winsford United’s fortunes did not change against in-form Padiham – a 5-2 reverse means they have not won any of their past five Premier Division fixtures.

Middlewich ended a four-match run without a win in Cheshire League One when they put four goals past visitors Golborne at Seddon Street.

Callum Priestley scored twice, while Jamie Petrie and Ed Marsh found the net too for the Witches.

Cuddington climb to fifth in League Two after edging Maine Road reserves by the odd goal in seven, Kieran Wakefield scoring twice at Norley Road.
