MAKE-UP artist Emma Williams is celebrating success in the 2016 English Wedding Awards.

Emma, 36, from Northwich, has been a self-employed make-up artist for 10 years, and bridal work represents the majority of her business.

She beat off the challenge of four other finalists to win the north west regional award for hair and make-up specialist of the year.

She received her certificate at the awards ceremony at the Mercure Piccadilly Hotel in Manchester.

Emma comes from Aberdeenshire in Scotland, and has lived in the Northwich area for 10 years.

She trained with the Makeup Academy in London, completing their full-time creative make-up course in 2006.

Since then she has trained and worked for a leading skincare and cosmetics company, and since setting up her own business seven years ago she applies bridal make-up for brides, and works on photographic shoots and catwalk fashion shows.

Her corporate clients include Warner Bros Entertainment, Pudology, Neon Gnome, Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Sun newspaper and Frock and Frill.

“Make-up is a very competitive industry, and it is important to get your name out there,” said Emma.

“Winning this title from the English Wedding Awards will help to raise my profile, as brides look for award-winners when seeking someone to apply their make-up.”

Bridal work represents about 90 per cent of Emma’s business, and the regional accolade is the second success for Emma, who was a regional finalist in the 2015 Wedding Industry Awards.
