WINCHAM Karate Club’s leader has praised the efforts of youngsters at the first club grading.

The grading was hosted by the club’s chief instructor, Andrew Wilson 4th Dan, with the attendance of grading officer, Barry Williams 6th Dan, a member of the national Shito-Ryu Shukokai Karate Do Association black belt grading panel.

Andrew said: “I am delighted with the children's progress over the last few months, which has culminated in taking their first step on the grading ladder.

“I couldn't be happier for them, and know if they carry on applying the same effort, they will continue improving, and with Karate being a new Olympic sport the sky really is the limit.

“The children did a great job, all successfully passing their 8th Kyu yellow belt grade.

Wincham Karate Club recently opened the club to adults and children aged 10 and above. For more information contact Andrew at andrew.wil@hotmail.co.uk.
