A DAY-LONG workshop from Cuddington-based professional artist Andrew Leigh is one of the highlights of the Lion Salt Works Museum’s autumn activity programme.

The family activity, scheduled for half-term, is on Wednesday, November 2, between 10.30am and 3.45pm, when Andrew will explore creative techniques from concept to final piece.

The drop-in workshop requires no booking and people of all abilities and ages are welcome. There is a suggested donation of £1.50.

Andrew will be teaching mixed media art workshops that will be fun and lively.

He works and teaches with mix media including ceramics, mask-making and a variety of arts and crafts.

Born in Crewe, he has a degree in fine art and has spent more than 20 years as an artist, mainly working with school and community groups.

Andrew said: “This is my first visit to the Lion Salt Works Museum. It is a wonderful and inspiring location for creating art, and I am looking forward to motivating everyone to develop their creative abilities.

“This isn’t just a workshop about painting and drawing - I want to engage and enthuse budding artists about the possibilities of print-making, ceramics, sculpture, photography and textiles.

“I’ve travelled all over the country working with all abilities and backgrounds, but it is always particularly nice to work in my home county of Cheshire.

“I hope everyone - from those who last drew at school to those who create works of art regularly at school - will pop in for this hands-on workshop.”
